The Maple Leafs have signed Nazem Kadri, their first-round pick in the 2009 NHL Entry draft to a three-year entry level contract, the team announced Monday.
Kadri, 18, was the 7th overall selection in the draft, and had 78 points for the OHL’s London Knights last season.

I would like to see Mr. Burke get some scoring touch for this team instead of all the tree trunks. Dany Heatley is in Ottawa and Leafs need a goal scorer, so let’s trade Kadri with Blake and get some good Canadian talent.
Sorry Kadri folks have already bad mouthed the club so let’s dump the Taliban.
That’s not a very good comment. The trade you propose has no chance of happening – mainly because Burke is actually an intelligent man – and there’s no way a Lebanese (2nd generation canadian) descendant could be a taliban, That’s like saying “tally ho!” to you and thinking it’s part of your repertoire. Just because you’re canadian doesn’t mean you should be considered british, or vice versa. Though in your case, I suspect most britons would take offense… Mike.
FORD – Dump the Taliban?! Are you serious? I believe our fine soldiers are working on that job in Afghanistan. You have heard about that right?
This kid is as Canadian as you, maybe more so because he has realized one of the most iconic Canadian dreams: becoming a professional hockey player. What have you ever achieved? Yeah, I thought so…
It’s his hockey accumen and not his ethnic heritage and religious beliefs that are the issue. Neither for that matter are your intelligence and civility
