Curtis Joseph earned his first win of the season and the 450th win of his career as the Leafs defeated the Atlanta Thrashers 4-3 in overtime on Tuesday night. Joseph became the fourth goalie in NHL history to reach the milestone, after Patrick Roy, Martin Brodeur and Ed Belfour. Pavel Kubina had the winner in overtime.
Canada and the U.S. face each other in a highly-anticipated matchup tonight at the World Junior Championships. An automatic berth in the semi-final is on the line.
Around the NHL, the Habs and Senators were both winners, while Mats Sundin skated with the Vancouver Canucks for the first time.
In AHL action, the Marlies were shutout 4-0 by the Hamilton Bulldogs at Copps Coliseum.
