Vesa Toskala’s huge gaffe on a shot from Buffalo’s Toni Lydman was a huge downer for the Maple Leafs, who fell 5-2 to the Sabres on Friday night. Toskala mishandled the puck on a shot that was going wide, and instead wound up deflecting it behind him into the Leafs goal.
Jonas Gustavsson replaced Toskala in the second period, and will be the starting netminder tonight when the Leafs host the Boston Bruins (7PM, CBC, AM 640).
