Taken with a pretty big grain of salt but if the Leafs won the cup you wouldn't support Wilson?
There is no telling what I would do if that happened (probably a lot of things I'd end up regretting later on!)
Seriously - I really have just never liked him and if he did coach them to a cup I would probably stubbornly minimize his role in it.......turning into a crusty old man.......

Hey, I'll take stubbornly minimize, sometimes I stubbornly maximize in his defense and I'm far from his biggest fan. There are aspects of overall responsibility during his tenure that I think his presence tends to overshadow which for us isn't a ringing endorsement but for others may be useful and managed purposefully.

I've said it before, the Leafs could do far far worse. We talk about how the Leafs had a good record for quite a while ( what a hat rack ) with decent to good goaltending but it also means that Wilson directed his team somewhat adequately with good goaltending not to mention a pretty young and wormy team. If I'm Burke one of the columns on the chart has to be 'coach', as in, 'who do I have as coach during our best years'. It won't be Wilson, the Leafs are 2-3 years away from really contending, best case.

I agree - we could do worse (and there have been a few examples over the years). It's a tough spot to be in coaching a team near the bottom AND in Toronto. (not to mention people like me chasing him with a pitch fork!)

:) I think the pressure is good for Burke and hopefully us.

If Reimer plays well but the Leafs lose Wilson will probably earn ire more readily/justifiably, if he doesn't start squeezing points this year it will be his last, hopefully Burke can get a pk forward and maybe an easter egg in good time to help him out or do what he did last year, let him sink or swim with the same kind of philosophy behind his moves, either way, along with whatever James can provide.

No matter what I don't think Wilsons existence as bench boss is the most pressing issue for the Leafs, long term.

Ok - maybe I like him a little better since he uses an iPad. Can we expect an iWilson app? Do we now refer to him as iRon man? Just sayin'... :D

I've called for Wilson's firing since last year and I won't flip flop because of some late season heroics by our goalie.

These late season pushes are becoming a Leafs tradition, so they don't mean much.

I think Pat Burns might of gotten this team in the playoffs at the cost of developing the system Burke/Wilson believe they need.  So long term, maybe Wilson isn't so bad?  He's way more patient then I am.  Although I'm prone to think pulling Bozak off the first line and putting some 3rd liner who'd do anything for the chance there instead might work.

If he's tanking by the end of November I think he needs to go. My leash is short if I'm Burke........but I'm not, so just my 2 cents.  ;)

Ah but if you listen to Burke we had the "4th" (?) best record in the East/NHL/??? since the All Star break/Christmas/???
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.

Glad to see Wilson is already in mid-season form, talking about cutting through the BS and getting down to the real roster.  That's because he's got about a 4-week leash.

I would like to see what he can do with reliable goaltending right out of the gate, onward.

I want to see him throw Nazem under the bus again, so we can christen this new site with vile hate for Ron Wilson.
