I am surprised they gave my Aaltonator (which was broken) an offer, do they really think they can use this used car part in the future?

Who knows? You never know what happens to him in the KHL. Leafs just assured themselves he still belongs to them and cost them nothing.

Maybe we will get back a rebuilt Aaltonator some day.

Something tells me Nylander won't like his qualifying number.

Although a rack of chicken breasts the other day in Safeway was almost 30 dollars, I would hope that this young crew of players is in it to win it, yes they want their payday, but like Sundin who used to have his Roll Royce shipped to Sweden and back every summer (I know the guy who shipped it), how much frikken money does someone need?  If you have made 10 million bucks by the time your are 23, then the rest is just gravy.  Greed can be good, but at what limit, either you buy into the plan and be part of it or hang onto ego demands.
I know I am one of the older guys that makes comments here, but like some of us we remember when all the players had summer jobs to make ends meet.
Yes get well paid but if "show me the money, means show me the gold mine" then at some junction, we all have to ask ourselves, what are we paying for.

It's not that simple. The players Union won't like players taking less money which would affect the overall market. They always want salaries to go up

Every now and then, though, one sneaks by.  i.e: Stamkos signing for $8.5 million when he easily would have gotten $10+ on the market.

Yeah, but they can justify that one with tax inequities.

The players get 50% of "hockey related" revenues, so individual player salaries really don't matter.
