You'll get more offense from Carlson, but McDonagh is a better shot suppressor.

Carlson is a righty though.  If we can get him for San Jose's pick and a prospect, I might consider it - but I imagine it'll take at least a first, if not more.

Of course Kypreos also just said that Rick Nash is a better player now than he was when he scored 40 goals.

McDonagh being a lefty just makes it a tough fit for me.

I'm assuming the idea here is that Nash's two-way game now makes up for the lack of goals. But when Nash scored 42 goals in 14-15 he was also one of New York's regular penalty killing forwards. He's been solid defensively since going way back to even his Columbus days. Hitchcock transformed him as a player. Someone here said that Nash will be one of the most overrated guys of his generation and I strongly disagree with that. He hasn't gotten enough praise for his two-way game his entire career.

Pittsburgh inquired about McDonagh, but is now out of the running.

Chris Wagner to the Isles, who send Jason Chimera to the Ducks in return.

Poor Leipsic, he almost pulled off the perfect "first to worst" in his division

Vanek to CBJ for Tyler Motte and Jussi Jokinen. Haha no picks for Vancouver.

How could you at least not beg for a 7th rounder or something.

It'dbe pretty surprising if Tampa doesn't end up doing anything. Although Yzerman's reported "I'm not trading any roster players or Cal Foote" stance did limit them.
