You can't continuously be out shot and expect to win. Although that was a pretty soft goalie interference call sine he was pushed into the goalie.

It sucks that the leafs can't beat the garbage teams.

Apart from the bottom pair, all but two players were positive possession players tonight.

Borgman and Carrick got buried.

What a strange game, Leafs were the better team tonight and dropped it.

I dunno. It didn't really feel like the Leafs were the better team. I know they were up big in terms of possession, but it didn't feel like they dominated or had a ton of high danger chances or anything. In terms of quality of play, it felt pretty even - with the Leafs not really being able to execute for most of the night. Definitely felt like the Yotes did a better job of executing their game plan.

Borgman at 16.7%. The Leafs have just three shot attempts and zero actual shots at 5-on-5 with him on the ice.

It's probably key to keep in mind that the Coyotes are a young team and probably not as bad as their record indicates. The Leafs should be better than them on any given night but you can't expect to dominate anybody in this league.

I also agree with busta. The possession numbers didn't strike me as indicative of much tonight.

I think it was pretty sloppy, but even with more advanced metrics than possession, the Leafs dominated 5v5.

The Yotes PP and a few great stops by Raanta was the story.

This has all the makings of a trap game - team on a winning streak, destroyed last opponent on the scoreboard, last place team in the league . . .

Borgman struggled all game. Kept giving the puck away.

He's still exempt from waivers, I think it's time to give him some Marlies time and try Marincin or Rosen or Marincin or Dermott or Marincin in that spot for a bit.

Maybe I'm getting hung up on semantics here, but it certainly didn't feel like the Leafs dominated in any way. They may have had the puck more - possibly even significantly more - but it didn't feel like they really did much with it, or controlled the play to the point where I'd consider it to be a dominant performance.

Sure was a trap! Always super greatful to get to a game but.... yawn...blah... trap... giveaways... Matthews hit hard a couple times... reversed goal... post... brutal.
