With the humidity it was almost 50 at work (Vaughan area).  We shut the work site down.

I took on an extra job this week, painting the exterior of a building, heavy corrugated steel for the most part.

I worked 3 hours today and called it quits, even shade was bristling.

Guess it's true, I'm never going to Dubai...

When the ice cream truck showed up to work today, the brass decided to spring for the building. The lucky owner of that truck sold about 500 ice creams. The poor girl in the window... I've never seen someone so frazzled!

Traded for band gear, decent ratio but on contract so the hours don't matter as much as my hide, at least today.

http://ca.news.yahoo.com/canadians-expect-august-weather-pick-where-july-left-083006043.html

Looks like more of the same weather for the rest of the summer.....

When it comes to the weather, Canadians can expect August to pick up where July left off.

That means warmer than normal temperatures for most of eastern and central Canada, plus cooler, damper days for much of Newfoundland and Labrador, Alberta and British Columbia, said Environment Canada senior climatologist Dave Phillips.

"Those people who have fairly good summer weather, it looks like its going to continue and those who have been waiting for it are going to have to be a bit more patient," said Phillips.

On the plus side, people who've been experiencing soggy, spring-like conditions in parts of Alberta and British Columbia can look forward to an improvement in the weather during August, but the change isn't likely to be a dramatic one.

Nonetheless, temperatures out west are predicted to rise over the next month with at least a few dry, sunny days on the horizon.

....parts of Nova Scotia and Newfoundland are expected to be slightly cooler than normal in August, but a good chunk of eastern and central Canada is forecast to continue the warm, dry spell experienced in July.

Tropical storm Irene popped up today, making nine named storms already this year.

Luckily, none of them have reached hurricane strength (yet).

Also, had some rain here today, but most of the thunder passed to the north or south.
