Oof. Tough late one for Northern Ireland to give up.

I feel bad for Arn, but it's been tough to watch, a fitting punishment for making us sit through this, especially that first half.

It wasn't a great game, but I thought overall we were the better team, but they took their chance and we couldn't quite create any really clear cut ones (also though the 2nd half was a decent watch).

But still, for our first tournament appearance in 30 years (and first in my memory) I'm pretty pleased with most of it. We're having a small parade when the team get back to Belfast tomorrow which I think will be amazing.

Actually can't wait for the World Cup qualifiers to start in September now, with a trip to Prague as well.

Unlucky - a great block to build on though.  It's been really good to see how they home nations have performed - I've genuinely felt as much tension when watching those games as the England ones.

Enjoy Prague, I love that place! As for the England's game tomorrow, they should win but they won't be beat France in the next round.

They haven't played at all so far, disappointed with Roy's men.

I've not been impressed for a number of years.  He's a pretty negative manager.  The qualifying campaign (in an easy group) papered over many cracks.

You can guarantee the neutrals will be right behind Iceland tonight ans screaming for every decision - France will want to play them more than us.  And I bet we get a good booing post-Brexit.  This game has upset written all over it...

Well done England for serving up a perfect 45 minute cackfest.

Since when has marking become optional?

Clive Tyldsley is an absolute space cadet, I actually like most of the English players but so many of your fans and media are completely detached from reality. He actually compared Iceland to San Marino in that first half, the same Iceland who came out of a qualifying group including the Czech Republic, Holland and Turkey and then jointly topped their group in France ahead of Portugal and Austria.

I get that they don't have the same rich history that a lot of teams have, but they've been a very capable outfit for about five years now.

The English are taking this Brexit stuff a bit literally.

Have to be honest I'm torn here between rooting for the underdog and wanting to see England vs. France.

Yeah, from a neutrals perspective I can see that.

Iceland and their fans have been such a great story so far though.

England will definitely still win though. ;)

Well, WIGWAL stepped on my "Well, you wanted out of Europe" line so instead I'll just point out that they got knocked out by a country with a population roughly that of London....Ontario.

Absolutely disgusting performance from England to top off a really poor Championships. No way did we deserve to get anything from that game. We were utterly clueless.

The set up and tactics of the team has been all wrong. Teams have only needed to put bodies in and around their own box and we haven't had the gameplan or ability to get through.

Agree about Iceland but compare their players to ours. It shouldn't even be close but we dont ever play as s cohesive team and Iceland did and wanted it more than us. Watching our players not mark, waste the ball, lose the ball or give it away too easily was embarrassing.

#LOLEngland isn't harsh enough. I'd divert their plane to North Korea.

Loved this stat on their population - if you are a male aged 18-35 and live in Iceland you have a 1 in 2000 chance of playing for the national team.

I don't think I've ever seen a TV commentator as upset as the English guy on TSN right now.

Who was it?

There's a huge amount of anger here. Hopefully the team will be met at the airport when they get back by an angry mob armed to the teeth with rotten tomatoes.
