Reimer
« on: March 08, 2016, 08:16:33 PM »
I'm just creating this thread to keep an eye on James Reimer.  He looks like he didn't have a great début against Vancouver over the weekend.  It will be interesting to see how he does and where he winds up signing.  There was an article about him this week where he flat out denied the $6 million contract rumour and he said he would be open to signing anywhere.  The article speculated that Calgary would be a good fit.

I wish nothing but the best for the guy!  I always really liked him as a Leaf.  He was inconsistent but when he was on he was a really great goalie.

On one hand, this is the second Ex-Files Reimer thread.  On the other hand, this has a much better title.

Reimer made 31 saves tonight to record a shutout in his 2nd start as a Shark, bringing his stats as a Shark to:

1-1-0-0
1.54 GAA
0.946 Save %

Optimus Shark would be entirely uninspired but at least understandable.  But Sharkski?  Why Sharkski?  It reads like the forced marriage of Optimus Prime/Reim and Starsky and Hutch, and fails to deliver either comedy or insight.

Just my humble opinion.

Neither Reimer, the San Jose Sharks, or Optimus Prime are of Russian/Slavic heritage.

I would have gone with James Sharkticon, but, admittedly, I'm a Transfomers nerd.

Dude, he wouldn't be a Sharkticon, he's clearly a Sharktobot.

I add ski onto just about everybodys name, gives a nice homogenization.

Seriously good work James on your first shutout in 3 years, you are a great guy and deserve success.
Oh and please come back home in July.

I don't know why people were so taken aback by the 6 million per figure. Being as he's almost certainly going to want 4-5 million, it seems pretty likely he'd start by asking for 6.
