Jeebus. That feels like it's straight out of a modernized version of the oppressive authoritarian playbook.

Oh, good. State sponsored media to call out other media as fake, with POTUS blessing. That's just lovely. Not something an oppressive regime would do, at all. Never would have occurred to the Nazis, to the powers-that-be in Iran and Syria, to the Chinese . . . oh, wait.

Yeah, but remember how irresponsible it was to have some emails on a private server? Gotta play both sides.

Anyone catching the slapfight going down between Bannon and Trump today?

Precipitated by Bannon's quotes from a book about the Trumpocracy.

For an administration that is so bizarrely clueless, incompetent and petty they've really kicked it up a notch here.

I keep feeling waves of wistful nostalgia for the good ol' Nixon days or the relaxed pleasantness of the Cuban Missile Crisis...good times!
It's not denial...I'm just very selective about the reality I accept.

This is an excerpt from a book that's due out soon by a guy who basically sat on a couch in the West wing and watched and listened to various meetings and happenings. It's quite long but pretty fascinating

The Bannon quotes from this book caused the kerfuffle with Trump (see above). This book, if true, is both hilarious and horrifying.

Here's the real scoop:
Quote
[Ivanka] treated her father with a degree of detachment, even irony, going so far as to make fun of his comb-over to others. She often described the mechanics behind [her dad's hair] to friends: an absolutely clean pate — a contained island after scalp-reduction surgery — surrounded by a furry circle of hair around the sides and front, from which all ends are drawn up to meet in the center and then swept back and secured by a stiffening spray. The color, she would point out to comical effect, was from a product called Just for Men — the longer it was left on, the darker it got. Impatience resulted in Trump’s orange-blond hair color.

Quote
[Trump] imposed a set of new rules: Nobody touch anything, especially not his toothbrush. (He had a longtime fear of being poisoned, one reason why he liked to eat at McDonald’s — nobody knew he was coming and the food was safely premade.)

I see this is going to be full of obvious things being spelled out extra clearly.

For once, Steve Bannon actually sounds believable.  As sad & pathetic that comment may be.
