2011 Entry Draft
« on: July 14, 2015, 09:20:35 AM »
Two players drafted in 2011 from the NCAA, 5th Round pick Tony Cameranesi and 7th Round pick Max Everson remain unsigned by the Leafs following what should have been their graduation from Minnesota-Duluth and Harvard respectively. Are these prospects still Leaf property or are the now UFAs having not been signed to date?

Cameranesi was just at the prospect camp. I don't recall hearing about Everson.

Cameranesi and Everson are due contracts by August 15th of their last year of college play.  Everson has completed four years at Harvard but Camerensi hasn't.

Cameranesi was just a Junior this year.  He still has a year of senior eligibility this year as he was drafted as a USHL player.

Max Everson on the other hand has completed 4 years of hockey at Harvard.  Given that he was a 7th round pick who hasn't really excelled, had an academic scandal, and wasn't invited to the Leafs prospect camp, I think it's safe to say that he won't be getting a contract.  The Leafs are also at 49 contracts currently (including Bernier) so it would be a waste of that last spot.

Cameranesi was awesome in the NCAA playoff game against Boston U.
All over everything all the time, seems to have really good hockey sense.  And wheels.
