Good news, in the clips he shows really great talent.  Wheeler has him as our number 2 prospect after Nylander.

does anyone know at this point if he will come over and play with the Marlies? Or wil he stay in Sweden one more year. I think getting him onto the Marlies asap is best.

I think it was just a week ago that he told Swedish media that he wanted to stay in Sweden for another year, thinking that it would be better for his development. It's possible the Leafs convinced him otherwise, but for now I would just assume that this is some basic bookkeeping.

I've been waiting for this kid to come over.  Hopefully it's soon!

Here's a little back story on him for anyone interested.

How do you not know you have asma until you are an adult? He must be the type of person that only goes to the doctor if his problem is life threatening. Even then he would say "Doc its no big deal but..."

Would be nice if he came over and got to play with Nylander on the Marlies.

EDIT: But this is what he said recently to a Swedish paper:

I'm trying to read between the lines here...do you think he wants to stay in Sweden or no?

I guess in the big scheme of things it doesnt matter, but to me if he has signed a contract with the the Leafs then they should make the calls (and perhaps they have), it seems to me that he should be developing with the Marlies, learning our systems, playing on the smaller surface.
Unless he plans to use this year to build himself into a new Thor :D

A new Thor, eh? That would be impressive and groundbreaking for the sport.

I don't mind him staying with Frolunda and maturing as a player and person before he comes overseas next year.

Yeah. He's not going to be on the big club this season and, for whatever reason, Swedish players seem to have a relatively easy time transitioning to the smaller ice surface (though, that could be because only the really good ones tend to cross the pond). Another year in Sweden is really a non-issue.

I've seen some stuff out there saying that Johnson's contract would slide if he stayed overseas. Just wanted to clarify here that it wouldn't since he's now 20 years old. The Leafs made a similar move with Tom Nilsson, signing him when he was 20 and keeping him in Sweden for another season. That ate a year of his ELC.

Another shrimp, I'm more of a speed fan but one team can only have so many small players, if he's that good why did it take TO so long to sign him, I thought I read somewhere that he recommitted to the SEL because he hadn't heard from TO.

Wheeler has him as number 2 prospect just behing Nylander. If he needs another year to build up his body and get his game even better and it happens at home so be it, but the kid has a ton of talent.
