Sittler's 10 point game February 7 1976, the first game I was allowed to stay up and watch all of!

Gilmour's double overtime goal circling behind the net and scoring on Cujo in 1993.....

Lot's of games with Favell, Palmateer and Wendel...

Good choices so far...Definitely Detroit Game 7OT - definitely remember where I was for that.

My favourite game that I went to...

Mid-March 1996 - Wendel's first game back with the Leafs against Dallas at MLG.   Sundin/Gilmour/Clark all on the same team for the first time.  It was a shutout and Clark scored a goal and an assist in that game.

I vividly remember walking from MLG to the College TTC subway station, and the entire crowd walking to the station was pumped.

Someone would yell out  "Who scored the first goal!!!"  the entire crowd travelling to the station would reply "Wen-del".

"Who was the first star"...."Wen-del!!!!"

"Who's gonna win the Conn Smyth this year?"...."Wen-del".

This went on for the entire walk to the Station...Wow...remember like it was yesterday.

2 games stick out in my memory....

Jan 2 1971 - destroyed the Red Wings 13-0. For some reason I remember watching the game on TV as a 6 year old

March 13 1971. My first Leafs game ever attended. We lost to Philly 3-2 and sat behind the net in front of Ballard's bunker

There's valid reasons for the limited interest. Get out of your basement if you dare. The real world will bend you over.

Feb. 17, 1993. First game ever. Leafs beat Calgary 4-2. I sat right behind the Leafs bench.

Mine is a Leafs loss, probably. In fact I'm claiming two games. The first time I was in Toronto I'd never watched an NHL game and barely knew what it was. The Leafs happened to be playing the Canes. When Sundin scored with the goalie pulled that was me hooked.

My other was probably Leafs v Sens in the ACC, March 2004. Game finished 2-2 and was my first ever live game (and 1 of only 3 I've ever been to).

I was a huge Belfour fan, and also delighted to see Belfast born Owen Nolan playing live.

Sundin's 500th goal game definitely stands out for me.

Overtime, short-handed winner to complete the hat trick. Doesn't get much better than that.

Not QUITE to hockey, I'd been to maybe 2 or 3 Belfast Giants games in Belfast by that stage purely out of the novelty of a completely new sport and new arena in the city the likes of which we just hadn't had.

But definitely was my introduction to the Leafs and I reckon you could count on the fingers of one hand how many home Belfast Giants games I've missed since.

Edit: that game actually has a lot to answer for and you could say somewhat changed my life to an extent. I've now seen NHL hockey in various places including New Jersey, MSG, Toronto, Montreal, London (England) and Stockholm.

I've also watched the Berlin Eisbaren several times in Berlin in the German DEL and been all over the UK watching Belfast play.

Only game I've ever been to, and by far my favourite memory.

Earlier I responded with Hammerstroms sudden death overtime goal against the Bruins in 78?
On further though it was when I was stationed behind Cheevers in 67 or 68 for two periods screaming "Cheever Sucks' like a mantra for the game. We won 1-0 and when the Loafs scored Cheevers turned around and waved his stick in this kids general direction… seems like he was pissed. I like to think perhaps I got to him…perhaps not…

No doubt the big one is the Borchevsky goal.  My friend (also a big Leafs fan) and I saw the Tragically Hip play outdoors at the University at Buffalo that day.  It was like a giant Leafs pep rally, especially when Bobby Baker came out on stage wearing a Gilmour jersey.  Show ends and we run back to our car just in time to hear Gilmour tie the game with only a couple minutes left.  We made the decision to try and drive across town to my friend's apartment to catch the OT but we didn't make it.  Borchevsky scored while we were racing down Hertel Avenue toward Delaware.  As soon as Joe Bowen yelled "Scores!" we started hollering and yelling, pulled the car over and raced around on the sidewalk, jumping up and down.  It took us a couple minutes to calm down enough to hear who got the winner.  An amazing day all around.

The other game I'd nominate is game 1, vs. the Senators in 2001.  The thing these two games have in common is that in both 1993 and 2001, nobody, and I mean nobody, gave the Leafs a chance to win those series.  The 2000-2001 Leafs had stumbled badly through the second half of the season and barely hung on to make the playoffs as a 7 seed, 2 points clear of missing the playoffs.  They had the talent, but were mired in a horrible funk.  Game one against the heavily favored Senators (whom we'd dispatched from the post-season the previous year) was in Ottawa and turned into a Curtis Joseph special.  Went to OT in a scoreless tie and then this happened:

It was like the damn burst in that one moment.  We swept the Sens and then took the Devils to 7 games (and might have knocked them off had Tie Domi not suffered yet another brain fart)

Considering I was born in '77 and watched a lot of bad hockey in the 80's I don't have many fond memories of those early years. I do recall my first game and running into John Brophy's chest as he stormed out of an office. I was terrified as a 9 or 10 year old.

But, like many, the series against Detroit is the one I remember most vividly though it's game 5 when Foligno scored and leaped for the rafters that I recall the most. Foligno being a local boy, former Sudbury Wolves player and coach, certainly helps that.

The way Wendel completely takes over that play is amazing!

TORONTO, Jan. 8 1986— Miroslav Frycer scored four goals and Russ Courtnall and Steve Thomas each had two tonight as the Toronto Maple Leafs outscored the Edmonton Oilers, 11-9.  Brad Smith, Wendel Clark and Dan Hodgson also scored
Tim Bernhardt played the entire game in the Toronto goal.

I happened to tape this game on VCR - just at random thinking it would be a good idea have some hockey to watch sometime that summer.  It ended up being such a fun game to watch, I kept it for many years.  It ended up being really nostalgic to watch it again with some friends in the 90's.
