TFC tied the San Jose Earthquakes, at home, Saturday,  in a MLS matchup.

I was at that game after winning a Carlesberg promotion and there was no shortage of atmosphere in the stadium. Sadly, the assistant ref blew an offside call that cost TFC its 2nd goal. Then the defense fell apart on a corner kick late in the 90 and left a proven goal scorer in Wondolowski open for the tying goal. I spent the last few minutes on the field before handing out the MOTM and I'll say this, you sure get a different perspective, especially with the speed of the game, down on the field.

TFC defeats the Columbus Crew 4-2, Saturday, with De Guzman potting the winning goal.  It was Toronto FC's first victory ever over the Crew, in Columbus.

Mexico's Pumas UNAM defeated the TFC 4-0 in a CONCACAF group stage matchup.  The loss leaves the TFC in third place in the Group C CONCACAF standings with three points, while FC Dallas is first with seven points, Pumas UNAM second with four points, and last is Tauro with two.

Nice rebound this afternoon at home against the defending MLS Cup champs Colorado Rapids. A brace from Danny Koevermans brought TFC a 2-1 win. That's 2 wins in a row in MLS play. However, they do not have enough games left to get into playoff contention. Next up is a CCL home game against Tauro FC of Panama on Tuesday night.

Danny Koevermans continues to impress, as the former Dutch star led the TFC to a 1-0 win over Panama's Tauro FC, in a Group C CONCACAF Champions league match-up.

The TFC is now in second place in the Group C standings with six points.  First place is occupied by FC Dallas.

Upcoming game for the Toronto FC is a MLS match-up with Chivas USA, in L.A., this Saturday.

Pumas defeated Dallas 2-0 last night in Dallas. They are now tied with 7 points each. TFC has 6 points. There are 2 rounds left in the Group Phase with the top 2 advancing. TFC hosts Pumas on Tuesday after playing Chivas USA in LA on Saturday.

An ugly 3-0 loss to Chivas USA last night for the TFC.  'Nuff said!

Seems like most of the players were probably looking ahead to the Champions League game at BMO against Pumas on Tuesday. Very unlikely to see the MLS playoffs now as they are 9 points out with 3 to play.

TFC drew 1-1 with Pumas last night, while in a shocker Tauro defeated FC Dallas 5-3 tonight in Panama. With 1 matchday left, Pumas lead the group on 8 points with Dallas and TFC tied at 7 points. TFC's final match will be at Dallas on Oct. 18th.

As I understand the process, the 1st tie-breaker is points in the 2 games between the tied teams, then goal difference in those games followed by away goals. Basically, TFC will need to win in Dallas and score at least 2 goals in the process, as Dallas won the 1st game 1-0.

If TFC wins 1-0, won't that put them at 10 pts and Dallas at 7 and guarantee them a birth in the next round?

You're right, that's what happens when I'm trying to put this together and watch baseball at the same time. Maybe it's a sign that I need sleep.

Looking forward to Oct. 18th!  At least they have a chance at something (other than a MLS playoff spot).  GO TFC!!

Canada is 2-0 and on top of Group D in the second round of the CONCACAF qualifiers for World Cup 2014. We are actually in a great position to move onto Round 3 of the qualifiers. It's been almost 30 years since Canada qualified for a WC <Mexico 1986>

And not to get cocky, but of all the groups, they get to slot into Group C if they make it to Round 3.

The difference being:

Group A - USA (#31); Jamaica (#45)
Group B - Mexico (#20); Costa Rica (#57)
Group C - Honduras (#53); Cuba (#103)

Beating Honduras or Panama (I'm assuming that they will eventually win their group) won't be easy, but I wouldn't give Canada a shot at beating the US or Mexico, so they have at least a good opportunity to win their 3rd round matchup/finish 2nd and advance to the 4th round.  That gives them a great opportunity to have a shot at qualifying.

Think of the shot in the arm this would give Canada Soccer if they could pull it off - what qualifying would do for the National Program....
