Phaneuf - Weber
Schenn - Aulie
Franson - Gunnarsson

best defence core ever but I know Burke won't fork over the cash for it to happen

Why do I get the sense that Schenn will be a part of a trade that will bring a young no.1 center to Toronto? With the accumulation of younger D on the team now and the pressing need for talent up front...this might be just what happens...I hope not but it could happen.

I like who he's been working out with this summer...

Quote
For most of the summer, both players needed a new contract.

But rather than talk terms or worry about the business side of things, Luke Schenn and Shea Weber were hitting the gym in Kelowna, B.C., together every day, pushing each other through sled pulls, sprints and slide board exercises.

Schenn, the 21-year-old Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman heading into his fourth NHL season, said it was an eye-opener watching the Nashville Predators captain and last seasons Norris Trophy runner-up give it his all.

Hes a little more developed, hes 25 years old, Schenn said. Hes a bit of an animal in the gym, too, he throws around quite a bit of weight. Hes like 240 pounds right now. Hes so gifted and hes got a great work ethic.

Pretty good, not sure if it's the best ever or even properly balanced but since when did Burke have trouble forking over cash?

It'll get done before training camp no worries.

I hope so but this is an organization that has a track record of kissing off it's best players, even if they want to retire as Leafs.

You can only accommodate so much in what a player wants before hurting the team.  Tucker probably wanted to retire a Leaf, would you have wanted him on the team the last few years of his career?
