Only one man's opinion but this tweet made me happy;

Corey Pronman ‏@coreypronman
At the draft I said it's a coin flip but lean Rielly. I maintain that. RT @biggsbrownross: Is Ryan Murray still better than Morgan Rielly?
The Leafs had Reilly ranked as their #1 prospect heading into the draft, ahead of Yakupov, Murray, and the rest. They think he's something (really) special.

Okaaaay, although I clearly remember him leaning heavily toward Murray at the draft and for a long while after.  Quite heavily.

One's opinion can change, that's for sure, and Rielly is causing a lot of people to do that so far this year.

My editor wouldn't let me name names in the projections as far as who he reminded me of but I had Brian Leetch in there and I maintain that Rielly is a very very similar player.  Whether he reaches those heights - time will tell, but he has the same size, skill set, personality and approach to the game that Leetch did.

...and let's not forget about Gardiner (though he's not really a prospect any more.) I miss Leaf hockey.  :( Well, parts of it.

In his pre-draft rankings he had Rielly one spot ahead of Murray. It was Dumba who he said was the top defenceman in the draft, albeit not by much.

Yeah here's his top 100 prior to the draft.

Im surprised we were able to nab Finn as he was ranked Top 20.

Thanks. I recall on his twitter feed he was all about Murray but can't search that far back. Anyway, Rielly is rocketing up everyone's charts since Oct and we're all taking credit. ;)

I still wonder who'll end up being the better NHL defenseman..Morgan Rielly or Justin Schultz....hmmm...

This got me thinking.. what if Schultz had chosen Toronto instead of Edmonton? The Leafs would have Gardiner, Schultz and Reilly, (and Finn) coming into the program. That would have been interesting.

( Next up; did Bigfoot vote for Obama?)  ;D

Usually they are quite valuable so not a bad glut of assets to have.

Too many offensive minded defenseman?

A team usually needs at least 2 or 3 pretty good puck movers on the back end to be successful. Besides that, Finn's defensive abilities are fairly well regarded. Offensive minded doesn't always mean defensively porous.
