Maybe Luongo doesn't like him. ;)

People who put our goalie woes on the head of Allaire last year are pretty silly, mostly made of the same crowd that like to label Phaneuf(his contract might be) as awful and a disgrace.

It's troubling to hear that his work was interfered with, great news to have two young goalies and no recognised respected goalie coach.

EDIT: It sounds like Wilson was a big problem, he spoke about not renewing even though they changed coaching staff.

Elliotte Friedman‏@FriedgeHNIC

Would assume that Eli Wilson, who was the Ottawa goalie coach and helped build Carey Price, is a possible Toronto target.

There is some logic in what Allaire says about the Leafs defence but his complaints about the coaching staff make him sound a bit like a prima donna.

Is this a job that Cujo would fit into?

Well, it's news. Nice resume but I can't say he gave me much reason to miss him.

Pokey Reddick?

Only if Andre "Red Light" Rasico is too busy at Home Depot to coach.

I was so relieved to hear this... hopefully the Leafs will hire someone who is willing to work with the goalies to expand on their natural abilities and style.... instead of imposing his own pre-historic non sense.

Given all that has happened with the goaltenders, this is probably a good time for a change.. probably for both sides.   Just the timing is what isn't great.

Allaire didn't really have to leave with guns blazing, but whatever. I don't meet many francophones who have trouble being open and honest about their feelings. :)

Seriously though, we're gonna need a goalie coach ASAP before the season starts! (in 2013)

Interesting that he's taking a swing at the coaching staff. I wonder if there's much difference between how things were under Carlyle versus Wilson. Given that Allaire was previously with the Ducks, I would assume that he's familiar with how Carlyle works...
