Non-Hockey Chatter / Re: The Passing of Jamie Slade

Jumping in late; I echo the sentiments of everyone here.

Jamie will truly be missed. As Damian mentioned, over the past couple of summers we'd have an annual golf outing - he was a terrific companion.

Some of you may remember him from our pick-up hockey games, he is second from the left in this photo.

I attended his memorial service on March 28.  Sombre event. A tremendous loss for his family, friends, and the TMLfans community.

Hey friends! We're back for another year.

TMLfans.ca is raising funds for the Road Hockey To Conquer Cancer event on Saturday October 1. Weve committed to raising $10,000 as a team.

Weve got 12 players lined up who will play in 5 road hockey games in this awesome event. Some TMLfans.ca regulars such as Rob, Rick, Darryl and Damian have already started the fundraising process.

Wed love you to assist us in raising that $10,000! Heres a link to the team page you can donate to the team, or any one of the members listed your choice!

Just saw Rob on TV in the Sundin interview scrum.  :)

The camera never gets my good side.

Oh wait, I don't have a good side.

Cheers Dan.

You should still go if you get the chance. By the way, how long are you in town for?  :)

I went to Rennie Park last week to take photos of the tree we planted in her name (even put a box of Miracle-gro next to our commemorative plaque, for a good photo-op)

The tree has really grown. Sakura would have loved it!

Greetings friends of TMLfans!

We are three months away from this event, and nearly 45% of the way to reaching our goal, woo-hoo!

Lots of work has been done, still lots to do.

No contribution is too small. Please feel free to visit our team page here.

If you can support us - either with a donation to the team, or any of our individual members - you'd have our thanks.

(RickC and I have reached our targets, so if you like, you can help out that Darryl guy).  ;D

A quick update, I'm really proud of our team's efforts so far.  We have nearly reached the $2,000 mark already!

This is a cause that hits home for more than a few members on this site.

On a personal level, I'm playing for my cousin who passed away to cancer in the Philippines last year.  And also, for a friend - not that much older than me - who was claimed by the disease in 2012.  And, for a couple of good friends of my mom's, who are no longer among us.

With your help, our team hopes to raise as much money as possible so that we can support The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation as they fight to CONQUER CANCER IN OUR LIFETIME!

Your generosity is appreciated!

Everyone: Feel free to check back regarding TMLfans events, auctions, giveaways - all in support of the cause.

Together we can aim to end cancer in our lifetime!

Hi friends,

On Saturday, September 27, I will be participating in Road Hockey To Conquer Cancer. I will be on one of over 100 teams, playing five games between sunrise and sunset.  All players have a single-minded goal; to raise funds to beat cancer during our lifetime.

The cause is very close to my heart. All have us have known someone who has been affected, or worse, claimed by the disease. Most recently our family lost one of my cousins who lived in the Philippines. Cancer, unfortunately, does not discriminate between old or young, male or female.

If you have a moment, please visit the link to my donations page. No amount is too small, all contributions are appreciated.

Also, as my way of saying thanks, Im offering all donors to my page a chance to win some prizes (click the link for details!)

Thanks in advance for your support.

Cheers

Rob

For those of us based outside Canada/North America, will this be available for Kindle at all?

Great work - dream to get published!

Thanks!

No immediate plans for e-book format, although our exclusive distributor Chapters/Indigo does ship internationally.
