If Rielly can get to 50 points that will be a nice milestone.

Edit: He'd be the first Leaf D-man since Kaberle in '07-'08 to attain the mark.

I am a life long Liberal supporter but the current Liberal government is completely corrupt. Christine Elliot would have a made an easy decision to switch. Doug Ford is going to make this an uphill battle for the Conservatives.

One of the really nice things that has come out of the 31 Thoughts Podcast (Friedman and Marek) is the rise to prominence of Marc Savard's stick taping obsessiveness.

As a result of that conversation, Savard has started up a YouTube channel show people how he did his sticks, and now how players around the league do theirs.

Here's the one he did for Marner and Nylander's.
Here's the original video.

Edit: as expected, there are a lot of instances where I could use this gif.

I like the way he pays extra attention to the knob. I think a lot of people overlook this.

Another injury to a key Bruin:

I think their top center is also out with injury.

The entire team played like crap from the net out, except for McElhinney when he came in.

I've seen enough of these outdoor games.  It was cool the first couple times, now it just seems like, whatever.

I'll say this, I wasn't too happy with an outdoor game so late in the season. I would have preferred another team in the outdoor game. Maybe more time (years) between outdoor games?

Maybe Tampa Bay or Carolina would like to take part in an outdoor game?

I'm hoping someone tweets that segment out again, or posts the transcription, because I wasn't fully paying attention until the conversation was underway.

Hughson says Polak "goes off the glass and safely out", it resulted in an icing.

But it was a safe icing.

Next level commentary from Hughson "That would just about have been in if Andersen didn't stop it"

I think the book is out on how to score in the NHL.  Don't let the goaltender stop the puck.

He's the best in the biz! It's pretty obvious why.

The jerseys themselves look good but I do think the whole white-on-white thing could be a problem.

Agreed. With blue pantsskates and gloves, they'd look awesome.

friendly amendment

I would unamend that

You're not allowed to.

It has to be repealed.

Boston is really really good.

I guess that's why the Leafs beat them 75% of the time.  8)

From my remembering, I didn't think Zaitsev looked this bad last year.  Maybe he's just got the second year yips, seeing how he got that big contract and all.

He was hurt with a foot injury for awhile this year so it could be a conditioning issue. Maybe still getting up to speed.

And you guys wanted to trade JVR...

If it goes to game 7 against Tampa and JVR breaks McDonagh's ankle while driving to the net scoring the series winning goal I'll forgive the non move of not trading JVR
Not sure why McDonagh needs to break his ankle in this scenario but okay...

"Breaks Ankle" - means he falls over trying to counter-act the opposing players move.

Hornqvist is quite good, but he's had injury trouble and plays a physical game. Not sure I'd want to sign him at 31.  :-\
