Agree. I'm not sure what Kadri and Marleau's problems are the past while

 (ahem ** Komarov?  **)

They've definitely been off lately regardless of Komarov, though.
Komarov is def an issue but c'mon. Kadri has no goals in 15 games and 1 assist in 19...That's pathetic.

Babcock, you put your SKILL players on the ice in OT 3 on 3!

This coach just baffles me with his lineup decisions!!!
Totally agree. Kadri has 1 point in 14 games ffs. Komorov isn't offensive at all. Matthews is your best faceoff guy yet he starts Kadri. And for the record, please please please get Komorov off Kadri's line. He should be on the 4th line/pker only. Not a top 9 guy. The fact he was 3rd in forwards ice time is a joke. Connor Brown should be on Kadri's line..Maybe even Kapanen instead. Disappointing Babcock

As far as unsatisfying shootout wins go that was decent.  Nice déjà vu from Matthews in the shootout and recognizing Bozak should go in the first 3.

I think they just Photoshopped that in from the other night.  You can bet the league will take a look at it.

Bozak’s move was the same too.
Bozak went stick side against the Sharks and glove side against the Nucks.
Dermott looked good tho. Even played him on the right side in the 3rd. Like to see more of him for sure.

Bozak...    HM Rielly.    And a note...Kadri sucked big time tonight.
Add 47 and 51 to the sucked list.

Head rubs to Dermott and Andersen

Main Leafs Hockey Talk / Re: Johnny Bower dead at 93

I didn't realize he didn't get in to the NHL until he was 29.
Yup, played 1 year and was shipped back to the AHL for 4 more years. Finding a home finally at 34 and playing into his 40's is remarkable. I also find it amazing that he had a better GGA in the NHL. Truly one of a kind and we'll never see a path and NHL hall of fame career like that again.

And as a side note. This is in the ex-Leaf category....Johnny Bower was and always will be a Leaf....just sayin.

Like last year, probably be Washington....
Anyway, most likely the wildcard will come from the Metro, so it's going to be a good team going against Tampa if they remain in 1st. I like our chances against Boston should it end up that way. Lots of hockey left tho.

If anything, play down to 4th in the division and take your chances with the Metro for the harder first round and easier second round, and a hopefully injury depleted Tampa Bay squad.
If the Leafs were 4th in our division they'd be out of the playoffs. Florida is currently 4th with 39pts(6th in the wildcard race). Only the top 3 in each division make the playoffs. The rest from both division battle for the wild card. If the Leafs stay where they are they'll play Boston and Tampa will play the 2nd wildcard team.

Auston reached 100 points with those 2 goals yesterday. Not too shabby...100pts(57goals) in his first 112gp.

Matthews, game time decision...

So yea...that Bozak line is great, like I said earlier... ;)

Anywho, it's continually surprising how few PP's this team gets. For a team with this much skill and this many wins, how do they always end up taking considerably more penalties than the opposing teams? It's truly bizarre.

The noncall when Rielly's stick was held, and which directly resulted in a PIT goal, was downright outrageous.
It sure was...And the non call when they slashed Moore's stick out of his hand on the pp...Joke refs..

And the Habs give Arizona their first regulation win of the year!! All is right in the world.

MotM: Andersen
Hm: Andersen
Head taps: Andersen

Also... Andersen.
Props to the D especially Hainsey, Zaitsev for the pk

Main Leafs Hockey Talk / Re: Polak signs 1x1.1

It's disappointing how little has changed between this year and last on the blue line. Hainsey for Hunwick? Virtually the same group who as whole are still not very good.
It's not getting good overnight without a major trade. It's going to take time and clearly Liljegren, Rosen and Borgman need time to develop. Who knows what their ceiling will be.
And just because they signed Polak, doesn't mean he automatically bumps someone out. He may well be the 7th guy and play against the tougher teams. Time will tell on how Babcock will use him.

Wow this is the most annoying thread I have seen in at least six months.  ::)

With the expansion draft coming up and options on the free agent market, there's an excellent chance the Leafs, if they'd been patient could have added a solid goaltender this off-season at very little to no asset cost.
And the same can be done with players so that would make those picks given up for Andy a non factor seeing they can easily be replaced with actual NHL players, not prospects.
