Probably not but they are showing a few Leafs games this year. Edmonton to.

No way they endorse the Toronto guy like they would the Captain of the New York Rangers.  Do you think any Raptor has done as well off the court as a similar skilled Knick or Laker? I would highly doubt it.
Been thinking some more. Americans love to wave their flags, and Matthews would get US sponsorship regardless of the fact he's in Toronto. He plays for the US in the Olympics and they do well? He'll get huge US sponsorship deals, more so than just playing for some random US team
Yeah I gave you New York, but Matthews in St Louis? Colorado? Arizona?  Toronto is more marketable than those places

That's not really how these things work. Guys build national profiles. The local market is largely immaterial outside of things like getting on national TV. NBC will always choose to air a game between two American markets because they care about US viewing numbera.
Wed., Oct. 24    Toronto    Winnipeg    NBCSN    7 p.m....not always

Classic Doughty, using the media to try and get Phaneuf the hell off his team.
Hahaha, he's a beauty.

So are you telling me that you think Auston Matthews would be playing even better with Nylander on his line instead of Kapanen?  I don't, quite honestly.

Yes, that's exactly what you're being told. Matthews has been worse this year at evens. Corsi, Goals For, Expected Goals For, Scoring Chances For, High Danger Chances For -- and shares of each of those. All worse than last year.

You're thinking of his PP performance.

You're both going by a small sample size here. There's no way to know if Matthews would be even better with Nylander. Chances are yes because Nylander is more talented then Ennis and Kappy but we simply don't know how Nylander would be playing.

I wouldn't worry about Gardiner's money. He will be getting it from some other team.
Exactly. Don't see him in the plans going forward but the Leafs need Dermott or someone else to step up this season.
And barring injury, I see Marleau back again next season. He's still a good player and doesn't appear to be slowing down a bit. I think he's miscast on Matthews line tho but so far so good.

And Anderson equals awesome. Saved our ass there.

Mariner was all kinds of bad there.

I wanted to blame Freddy on that goal, but watching the replay that shot was just gross.
Yup. Sometimes you got to give it to the shooter. Freddie gave up a postage stamp and Kuz found it.

Hell of a shot there.

"Zetsev" and "Kapanen or whatever his name his" lol

You know as much as everyone harps at this teams defence it's the forwards that need to do their job. Lazy back checking by Marleau on the first goal and Tavares with a brain fart on the PP that almost cost us again. Wow these are veterans that are making stupid mistakes.

That looked more like a pinch with all 3 forwards deep and unable to support. It's the forward's responsibility to cover it but it's the defenceman's responsibility to ensure that the forward can do so before committing.
The D has to be aware of the forwards and their ability to cover before pinching. Again bad pinch by Zaitsev on the 1st goal.

Bad pinch by Zaitsev on the 1st goal.

Burkie on primetime. Always interesting nuggets.
"They need to have this fight... agents are testin' him, everyone's watchin' him."
Interesting take from BB. Sign and trade Nylander next summer. Good interview.
