Ok Blue Jays Talk / Re: Changes to the Game May Be in the Offing

Couple changes that have been tested in the AZ Fall league include giving an intentional walk by flashing a signal rather than the 4 pitches and a limit of 3 coaching visits per game (including pitcher-catcher conferences), not including pitching changes.

Penny Oleksiak will carry the flag at tonight's Closing Ceremony. Canada finishes with 22 medals, good for 10th when ranked by total medals won (20th when ranked by Gold which is how the IOC ranks countries).

Ok Blue Jays Talk / Re: MLB Trade Deadline

It's likely someone from this year's draft. If I remember correctly, players can't be traded within the 1st year of them being signed.

Pretty good start in the team sports. Women's soccer and rugby 7s are both 2-0. Women's basketball won their opener today as well.

So the IOC has backed off on tossing Russia out of the games completely. They have put it on the individual sports federations to decide.

Would love to see Russia tossed from the Olympics for this. Can't wait to see the IOC lose their balls and back down on sanctions.

Looks pretty similar to the rules in the OHL. They've had it for a couple years and it hasn't killed all fights.

The intention of moving to Laval for 17-18 was made clear when they brought the team to St. John's. I just wonder how much the attendance suffers with it being made official.

Make that a Wimbledon singles final. Daniel Nestor has won 2 men's doubles and 1 mixed doubles titles at the All England Club in 4 tries. Vasek Pospisil has also won a doubles title.

Either way a nice run for Milos. Would like to see that become a run in Rio.

Derozan re-signs with the Raptors 5 years 139M (27.5M/year).

The Raptors have no cap space.  Biyombo is gone.   They can still sign guys to the MLE so hopefully they find a shooter.

Don't that they have Bird rights on Biyombo? That would let them go over the cap to resign him if they wanted.

I guess Jan. 3rd and Mar. 2nd just got circled on the Sportsnet calendar.

Makarov and Quinn I can't argue with, especially when you factor in Makarov's international resume. Vachon was a quality goalie in an era when the Kings were just plain bad. Lindros is the one I can't agree with. I don't think his career was long enough or stellar enough to warrant a selection.
