So........... How long to pre-season?   ;)

I'm not gonna try to guess 1 through 15 this early as trades or injuries can and will change things. I will however predict that the Pens will beat the Hawks for the Cup and that I believe that the Leafs will make the play-offs.

Can I retract one of these?

I miss ya already.  :P

So you're watching to cheer against the Leafs? Now that's something I don't get. Why not just stop watching if it brings you such mental angst? Why do you go outta yer way to stress yourself out. Only 6 more months 'til pre-season donchya know!

I suddenly want to do some crack, eat marshmellows and watch a Leafs game. Not too sure I'f I'd cheer though.

I'd cheer you on.

 Ouch! I'm deeply hurt. :o

I not only cheered when Wilson got fired, me and the crew went out and got ripped. Point?

So it's ok when not cheering for the team works for you. Ok, thanks.

You are quite welcome. I wasn't aware that Ron Wilson was the team. I also cheered FOR the Leafs while heckling RW every chance I had. What the heck could that mean?

I just can't believe that the people that have paid big money for tickets would cheer for their own team... they should ... uhh miserable. Ya gotta love it when Leafs fans are complaining about Leafs fans cheering too much. That ain't one ya hear everyday.
I will continue to cheer for the Leafs when they do something well, while hoping we drop in the standings. When we win I'm glad for the guys on the ice and when we lose I'm glad we just might get a shot at Nail. Ultimately I want us to play a great game and lose by 1.

Main Leafs Hockey Talk / Re: Cherry vs. Burke: Round 2
« on: March 05, 2012, 05:24:04 PM »
Just to add this in, a few of my buddies had started calling the Leafs the "Toronto Stars and Stripes". While I agree that Burkes job is to put the best team on the ice, I do agree with Cherry that we (as Southern Ontarions) are under represented... right now. No conspiracy theories or nothing, just saying I kinda agree with both.

It's all good sounding and all but do you honestly believe an openly gay athlete really would be accepted by the majority? I think most would be allright with it, but I honestly do not believe sports would be quite as "gay friendly" in a locker room as we'd like to believe. Is it better? Obviously yes, but until a player comes out while still playing and dealing with all the b.s. that'd be associated with it I don't see this cause advancing anytime soon.
That being said, good on the Burkes and all the others willing to stand up for what is obviously a ridiculous and absurd situation. C'mon now, if 10%(ish) of the population is gay and we have approximately 4000 players in the 4 major sports, well it's perdy damned hard to believe that at least a few of our sports heroes and/or legends are gay. It's so foolish it's really kind of sad/funny.

Leafs Media Rumours / Re: Rumours out of Sweden
« on: March 05, 2012, 04:39:19 PM »
I give this no credence as I thought ALL rumours are s'posed to come outta Toronto. Nice try Swedes!

I'm not sure how, for what or why but I blame Wilson, Larry Murphy, Ballard, Frasier, and JFJ.

Are we more scared of Sarah Palin or Rick Santorum running the US?

Won't happen. The left, the moderate righties and the sane will not vote for the Republicans. Only the stereotypical God fearin', gun carryin', gay fearing, flag wavin', "USA, USA, USA" chanting Americans will vote for these nutjobs. Then again..........

Leafs Media Rumours / Re: Rick Nash potentially available
« on: February 23, 2012, 05:15:18 PM »
Does it strike anybody else as odd that Sundin was/is blasted for not being able to carry the Leafs into the Stanley Cup finals (but made the play-offs about 10 times in a little over a decade), yet most people are wetting themselves over the idea of getting Nash, a guy that in a decade carried Columbus to all of one (1) play-off series... which he got 3 points as they lost in 4 straight?
BTW, I'm one of the above that does want Nash here.
