Main Leafs Hockey Talk / Re: The Matthews Extension

One thing that the big 3 might consider is to use the same way that JT contract was structured, heavy on SB and small on salary. They do have a potential lockout coming, and SB would guarantee the money, and that could sweet it up for then.

General Rumours & Speculation / Re: Tavares

Saw something on the Twitter suggesting the Leafs offered 1 year at $16m then a 7 year extension.

Sounds unlikely.

I think technically they could offer him a 8 year deal at that point.

They can resign him for an 8 year on Jan 1st. (If he signs a 1 year deal at 16). Tecncally speaking they can overpay the 1st year and get a better 2nd deal.

Won't happen...

Anyway, 1h30 left for the Isles...

Eklund (I know it did surprised me too), came up with a decent idea.

Leafs can sign him for a 1 year deal with tons of money and right after they can start to work on a deal to resign him for 8 years.

Sure they will have to deal with our Big 3 next season too but that could work. Nylander this season and they will work the magic for next season on a cup winning hangover.

If Lou was still the Leafs GM I would be confident that they would pull a move like that. Let's see what Divas Learned...

He decided to listen to 5 teams before make a decision to hit or not free agency.

Leafs are one of this teams, with 23mi on cap space.

Will he pull a Stamkos and stay with the Isles (now with Lou and Trotz) ?

Anyway... 7 days.

Any feeds?

Worst game by Gardiner in the worst time ever

Bench Gardiner. Play Dermott more.

Tonight they will comeback and win this series.

The keys to do it is:

Shutdown Boston's big 3.
Scratch Komarov
Kapanen is due.

Go Leafs Go!!!

Boston big line held off again. They were off 3 times, they lost 3 times... lets make it 4 times on wed.

Awesome game by Gardiner, Brown, Hyman, Matthews and Fredie

Goatee Power

Plekanecs, I love you now!

The Bruin Killer...

and now that Plekanec's goatee power is growing back on him, it is real nice to have 2 Centers that can go head to head with Bergeron's line.

Both games that the Leafs won, that line was off the scoreboard...

Nice to see the Docs also on the fan side!

Go Leafs Go!!! Lets take this to 7!
