St.Louis  2    Minnesota  1   OT     Blues lead series 1 game to 0.

Give credit to St. Louis' Vladimir Tarasenko who's nifty setup led to Joel Edmundson's goal that won it for the Blues in OT.

While St. Louis made good on whatever few opportunities they had, the Minnesota Wild peppered Blues netminder Jake Allen with a total of 51 shots.

It was not lost on the home team's crowd that the man behind the Blues was former Wild coach Mike Yeo.  He was roundly booed.

Though his Blues led for most of the game, it wasn't until the Wild made empty net for the extra attacker with just twenty two seconds remaining in the third that Minnesota's Zach Parise tied it all up.

That set the stage for the Blues' Tarasenko's heroics in setting up the winning OT goal.

Minnesota 1   St.Louis   3     Blues lead series 3 games to 0.

What a strange turn of events for the Minnesota Wild, the NHL's second highest scoring team.  In this playoff series against the Blues, the Wild can't seem to strike when it counts, in fact they've run into a wall in the form of Jake Allen.  Allen, with the best save percentage in these playoffs, backstopped the Blues while St.Louis' scorers did the rest.

Allen has stopped 114 of the 117 shots he's faced cumulatively, and shows no signs of letting off.  He definitely has given Minnesota headaches in trying to get the puck past him.  With the Wild on the brink of elimination, desperation times await.

Minnesota  2   St. Louis  0    Blues lead series 3 games to 1.

The Minnesota Wild solved the riddle that was St- Louis' goaltender Jake Allen and kept their playoff hopes alive in this potential Game 4 elimination  game.

Of course, not without some much-needed luck in the form of a miscue by Allen.  That would be the first of two on the night.
On the other side of the ice,  Wild netminder Devan Dubnyk played to a well-earned shutout.
