Well, I had a great evening with my daughter at the ACC but man, that was about 8 minutes of FUGLY.

I know a few people that went last night, said it was a great game even though they lost.  I don't know if I could share the same outlook.

Glad you have a good time with your daughter, my son is 3 so not yet.  :P

If someone like Kadri or Frattin did what Kessel tried to do on that second goal against, Randy would eviscerate them.  I'd like to see similar treatment given to Kessel et al who completely blew their coverage on that play.

Guy in the slot is the D, forwards are the point, no?

Not on a rush.  On a rush you take the open man, particularly if he's standing right beside you.  If the opposing team gets set up in your end, that's when positional coverage comes into play.

When the play came back into our end, I was watching Kessel all the way and hoping he would get back - and he did, Then I seen Dupius standing in the high slot and watched Kessel skate away from him to the puck carrier
against the boards leaving Dupuis completely alone. I was yelling at the TV. Anyone watching seen that chance (goal) coming.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.

Kind of "useless" but we got out of our chairs after the empty netter with 9 seconds left. It was about 9:45?... Battled the crowd, took the union station subway to Yorkdale where we parked, drove all the way home to Newmarket and walked in the door at 10:55. That HAS to be some kind of record.  8)

Yeah, but then you'd still be in Toronto.  :P - Half joking... You're very lucky that way.

lol...I'm in the same boat, as I live in Liberty Village.  The Ms. and I typically do our grocery shopping at Longos after Leafs games. :P

I think it was Kypreos after the game last night brought up an important point.  Komarov and Kulemin need to start chipping in.

And I don't mean Kulemin needs to return to 30 goal form.  Obviously he is not capable of this or his role has changed (whatever, it doesn't quite matter why since nobody expects this of him).  But what we need is the odd goal.  How about one every 5 games?

If you take a look at the scoring spread on Anaheim you will see how many guys contribute 5-10 goals at his juncture.  it is translating into wins for them.  McClement is pulling his weight, why not those two guys?

Sad to see that so many people are almost ready to throw in the towel already.
There is a lot of hockey left and last year was last year. This year we have a system and special teams that are actually showing up for the game for the most part. We have played above expectations and i think too many people are ready to hold us against a higher mark then we are ready to be held against.

We are still in the playoffs atm after all.

Try and see the glass half full rather then half empty. Besides Lup's is back soon :)

You could have made the same argument at the same time last season. :)

Bottom line - until the Leafs show that they are mentally tougher than last season, there is going to be some concern. They have to prove to the fans that they can do it. I think they will turn it around and be in the hunt for the rest of the way, but the next three games against "weaker" opponents will be very telling, IMO.

Yeah, Grabbo's line seems to have disappeared when it comes to scoring. I was in a masochistic mood this morning, so I listened to Brady and Lang for the first time in a while - they were arguing that Grabo's falloff has a lot to do with Carlyle's system and they disagreed with his use of a 5.5 million dollar player as a shutdown forward.

If only Komarov scores on that breakaway... what if, what if?

Someone pointed it out the other day, but Kulemin/Grabovski had the same (or maybe even 1 more) points at even-strength than the Kessel/Bozak combo, and they hardly get PP time so their overall points are lower.

Do you guys remember years ago the Leafs spoke about these state-of-the-art machines that they used for players to heal faster and more efficiently? I specifically remember Sundin talking about using them, and some of them involved actually submerging body parts in liquid of some sort for extended periods of time.

Am I crazy?
