Record breaker Sir Bradley Wiggins won gold last night in the Team Pursuit to become Great Britain's most decorated Olympics athlete (and of course he has a Tour de France win on top of that).

Legend.

Canadian Kayaker, Adam van Koeverden, on sexism in the Olympic game coverage.  Good read:

Excellent article by van Koeverden.   Thanks for posting link, louiss.

Two more Bronze medals for Canada -- Women's Track Cycling team and in the Women's Heptathlon.

Brianne Theisen-Eaton, who was way back in the standings in the Women's Heptathlon after a disappointing start, gave it her best to finish third overall and on to her Bronze medal victory.  Well done .

I don't like a lot of the more contrived events but there's really nothing purer than the 100m and there's really nothing better than watching Usain Bolt run it. The way he can just turn it on and run away from world class sprinters is really incredible.

Since the US have been high and mighty several times over the Russian's and doping.  It's amusing when you watch them fawn over Justin Gatlin in spite of his two PED suspensions.    Bolt's ability to overcome his slow starts and then just destroy the field is impressive.

Also nice to see De Gasse pick up the bronze for Canada. The first medal from a male athlete this year. He has a bright future.

I don't think it's been as good an Olympics as London but I think maybe that's because London was local so able to get a bit more enveloped in it.

Really enjoyed the rowing events. Highlight probably being the silver for the Irish Lightweight double guys (and the girls making their final). And the almost dead heat in the Men's single with Kiwi Drysdale winning by less than 1cm over a 2000m course against the Croat Martin.

I do enjoy watching things like Handball and Diving and even the gymnastics that I don't watch any time other than every 4 years.

After 112 years in absence, golf returned as an Olympic sport, in which saw Great Britain's Justin Rose win the Gold in the Men's portion of the event.

Canada's Graham DeLaet (whose caddy was extremely-NHLer Ray Whitney who subbed for DeLaet's official caddy, who declined the invitation to participate in Rio due to Zika), and David Hearn, finished 20th & 30th place respectively.

It was a Canadian, by the way, named George Lyon who won golf's first Olympic Gold medal back in 1904.

The Women's portion of the event gets underway next.

Canada's Derek Drouin wins Gold in Men's high jump.  Not since 1932 has a Canadian won a Gold in an Olympic Games high jump event.

Congrats to Drouin!

Oh well, guess can't win 'em all.  Team Canada lost 2-0 to Germany in the Women's Soccer Semi-Final matchup.

Canada will face Brazil the host nation in the Bronze medal match.

Disappointed but still proud of our women's team.  Good luck ladies!

Grasse does it again!     Canada's Andre De Grasse wins Silver in the Men' s 200m race in Track & Field, as Jamsica's Usain Bolt wins Gold and France's Christophe Lemaitre takes the Bronze.

De Grasse becomes the first Canadian since Percy Williams in 1932 to win a medsl in each of the 100m and 200m race.

Great day Andre!

Canafa's Damian Warner wins Bronze in the Men's Decathlon. Gold went to American Ashlee Eaton (husband of Canada's Bronze medal winning Heptathlete Brianne Theisen-Eaton ) while France's Kevin Mayer wins Silver.

Warner, who stood third after several events, had a chance to finish higher,  but came in fourth in the 1500m race, the final portion of the Decathlon.
