Couch’s Corner: Trading Reimer, lots of stats, gamenight

Leafs goalie Reimer looks on during a break in play against the Devils during the third period of their NHL hockey game in Toronto

There’s lots of talk and speculation in Leafland about potential tradebait.  Nazem Kadri’s name has been mentioned.  So has Jake Gardiner’s.  One that has not been offered up much is James Reimer.  The kid has stood on his head and really pushed Jonathan Bernier for much of the season, but it’s become clear Bernier is #1.  So that leaves Reimer, a great goaltender, on the bench.  An asset like that would make for interesting trade talk – giving the Leafs a chance to shore up another top-6 forward.

Reimer will be a restricted free agent this summer.

It’s all in the stats!!!
