Rielly scores in AHL debut

Defenceman Morgan Rielly – Toronto’s 2012 first-round draft pick – had a goal in this first game for the AHL’s Toronto Marlies who fell 4-3 in a shootout to the Chicago Wolves on Friday night.

Rielly was assigned to the Marlies this week after his junior team, the Moose Jaw Warriors, failed to qualify for the Western Hockey League playoffs.

Also playing his first Marlies game on Friday was defenceman Mike Komisarek, who cleared waivers the previous day. Komisarek had not played in the AHL since the 2004-05 season as a member of the Hamilton Bulldogs.
