Marlies split weekend series in St. John’s

The Toronto Marlies and St. John’s IceCaps each won a game in this past weekend’s series at Mile One Stadium.

The Marlies took the opener 6-2 on Saturday on the strength of a 3-point night from Joe Colborne.

In the rematch on Sunday – rescheduled from two days earlier due to a blizzard – Toronto fell by a score of 4-2.

Rosters around the AHL are depleted as a result of the opening of NHL training camps. The Marlies were without Nazem Kadri, Mark Fraser, Korbinian Holzer, Mike Kostka and Ben Scrivens on Saturday. Ryan Hamilton and Keith Aucoin attended Leafs camp on Monday fresh off their return flight in Newfoundland.
