Rielly invited to Team Canada junior selection camp

Leafs 2012 first round draft pick Morgan Rielly is one of 37 players who received an invitation to Team Canada’s national junior selection camp. The 18-year-old defenceman currently has 26 points in 30 games played this season for the Moose Jaw Warriors of the Western Hockey League.

Six of the invited players are returning from the Canadian squad that won the bronze medal at last year’s event: Dougie Hamilton, Scott Harrington, Jonathan Huberdeau, Boone Jenner, Mark Scheifele and Ryan Strome. Defenceman Ryan Murray is eligible, but is unavailable due to a season-ending shoulder injury.

The 2013 World Junior Hockey Championship begins on Boxing Day in Ufa, Russia.
