Defenceman Simon Gysbers scored at 4:05 of overtime giving the Toronto Marlies a 5-4 win over the Hamilton Bulldogs at Copps Coliseum on Friday night. This was the first of 8 consecutive road games that the Marlies will play up to November 16.
The seesaw game was tied on four occasions during the evening, with neither team ever leading by more than one goal. The Marlies appeared to have won the game with 0.4 seconds left in regulation when Paul Ranger capitalized on a rebound off a Leo Komarov shot. But the apparent goal was disallowed after a penalty call against Toronto.
Carter Ashton and Mike Zigomanis joined Gysbers in earning their first goals of the season. Jake Gardiner collected his third marker of the year; Greg McKegg got his second goal of 2012-13.
Ben Scrivens made 35 saves in net for the victory.
