Blake scores hat trick (Wheeler, not Jason) in B’s win

The Boston Bruins got three goals from Blake Wheeler on the way to a 5-2 win over the Leafs at TD BankNorth Garden on Thursday night. Once again Toronto fell into an early hole, giving up the first three goals of the game. However, unlike previous nights in which the Leafs have staged comeback rallies to earn points, this occasion provided too much of a hill to climb.

Alex Steen and Mikhail Grabovski scored the Leafs goals with an average-looking Vesa Toskala taking the loss in goal.

Forwards Nik Antropov (foot) and John Mitchell (shoulder) both left the game due to injury.

The Leafs host the Habs in the annual Hockey Hall of Fame game on Saturday.
