TSN.ca reports that the Maple Leafs have traded defenceman Tomas Kaberle to the Boston Bruins in exchange for prospect centre Joe Colborne, the Bruins’ first round pick in 2011 and a conditional draft pick.
As of 1pm EST, the trade call still has to go through the league to confirm the deal.
EDIT 2:30pm EST. The Maple Leafs officially confirmed the trade – on the terms stated above – in a press release. The conditional draft pick is a 2012 second-round draft choice if Boston either re-signs Kaberle or advances to the Stanley Cup Final this season.
Kaberle, 32, is the second-highest scoring defenceman in team history behind Borje Salming – with 83 goals and 437 assists in 878 games.
