The Maple Leafs landed in Toronto on Tuesday morning after their return trip from New Jersey was delayed several times due to storm conditions in the Northeast U.S.
The Leafs defeated the Devils 4-1 on Boxing Day, in a game in which the announced attendance was just 5,329 as a result of a heavy snowstorm. The Devils offered their fans a chance to attend an alternate game, under of the circumstances.
A series of weather-related misfortunes plagued the team following the game, including a five-hour bus ride back to the hotel, followed by several attempts to leave the Newark-New York area on Monday.
The team finally made it to Pearson airport on Tuesday, from where they immediately departed to MasterCard Centre for their game-day skate.
The Leafs face Carolina tonight at Air Canada Centre at 7pm.
