Friday news: Leafs roll past Columbus; Gustavsson has successful surgery

Phil Kessel, Jason Blake and Joey MacDonald were the stars of the game in Toronto’s 6-3 win over Columbus on Thursday.

Kessel and Blake scored twice each while MacDonald was solid in goal making 33 saves. MacDonald will start Saturday’s game in Boston.

The Globe And Mail reports that goalie Jonas Gustavsson underwent a successful ablation on Friday to correct an abnormal heart rate. It is the second such operation for Gustavsson since September. Head coach Ron Wilson says “The Monster” will take about 7-10 days to recover.
