Marlies roar back with convincing win
The Toronto Marlies dominated Game #3 of the North Division Final on Tuesday night, pounding the Syracuse Crunch by a score of 8-2 at Onondanga County War Memorial Arena. Toronto pulled to within a game of the series in which the Crunch now hold a two games to one lead.
Goaltender Scott Clemmensen had a strong start after the Marlies fell into penalty trouble early in the first period. Toronto responded by holding a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes, then erupting for three second period goals to take command of the game. A pair of Marlies goals in the first 45 seconds of the third period added to the blowout.
John Mitchell had a pair of goals and an assist, while David Ling also had a 3-point night, collecting one goal and two assists. Jamie Sifers, Jiri Tlusty, Andy Wozniewski and Bates Battaglia had the other Marlies goals. The game turned nasty in the third period when Syracuse's Tom Sestito sucker punched Toronto's Kris Newbury, leading to a heated scrap which saw both players ejected.

Game #4 of the series is on Wednesday.
