Marlies force Game Seven

The Toronto Marlies scored 3 third period goals on route to a 3-2 win over the Syracuse Crunch on Saturday night.  The win forces a seventh and deciding game in the North Division Final to be played Monday night at Ricoh Coliseum.

Peter Tsimikalis notched his first goal of the post-season, pouncing on a turnover in the Syracuse zone and finding the net on a partial breakaway.  Derrick Walser scored on a 5-on-3 power-play goal, while Bates Battaglia scored the eventual game winner by firing a shot that found the short side on Crunch goalie Karl Goehring.  It was Battaglia's second game-winning goal in as many games, and his third GWG of the playoffs.

Scott Clemmensen made 30 saves for the win, with many of the stops coming in the final minute of the game as the Marlies held off a Syracuse flurry around the Toronto goal.

Game Seven is set for 7:30pm on Monday at Ricoh.

Forward lines: Tlusty-J. Mitchell-Ondrus, Battaglia-Newbury-Ling, Foster-Giliati-Aubin, Wellar-Tsimikalis-Harrington
