Marlies offence shoots blanks as Rampage force Game Seven

The Toronto Marlies were shutout on home ice on Sunday afternoon as they fell 3-0 to the San Antonio Rampage in the sixth game of the opening round playoff series, which is now deadlocked at 3-3.  Rampage goalie Josh Tordjman made 38 saves in the shutout.

Marlies coach Greg Gilbert remained poised after the game as he addressed the media and evaluated his team.  "Outside of the undisciplined penalties, I thought we played a pretty good hockey game.  We held the shots down and gave up very few opportunities.  The ones that they did get, they capitalized on."

Defenceman Jay Harrison concurred.  "We played a really good game, and did the things we wanted to do, but we got bit twice in the first period.  It's just tiny little errors that ended up costing us.  But I think we came out as hard as we did all year.  We worked hard and played pretty well."

Ex-Leaf and Marlie Brendan Bell scored the final goal of the game in the third period, and is looking forward to the opportunity to defeat his former teammates.  "We were pretty confident beforehand.  We're a pretty resilient group and came out with a really good effort after being down 3-2 in the series.  Game Seven is awesome.  This is what we play for, you love this opportunity!"

Game #7 will be played on Monday night, beginning at 7pm at Ricoh Coliseum.

Forward lines: Murphy-Mitchell-Ondrus, Leveille-Foster-Harrington, Battaglia-Newbury-Tlusty, Aubin-Gilati-Ling
Defence pairings: Harrison-Sifers, Wozniewski-Muir, Kronwall-Walser
Goaltenders: Clemmensen (L 60:00, 21 SV, 3 GA), Pogge (0:00)
