Marlies feast on Wolves

The Toronto Marlies scored five unanswered second period goals in an 8-3 pounding of the Chicago Wolves on Wednesday night.  Jiri Tlusty had a four-point night with two goals and two assists.  "Last month I played with the Maple Leafs and got more confidence," reflected Tlusty after the game.  "After coming (back) down, it's so much easier to play harder, and be more focussed on details."

Staffan Kronwall (1 G, 1 A) and Kris Newbury (1 A), who along with Tlusty were returned to the Marlies following the end of the Leafs' season, also found the scoresheet.

"Those guys came down with a good attitude", said Marlies head coach Greg Gilbert, when speaking of the three returnees.  "They're excited about playing, and they're excited about going to the playoffs."

The win pulls the Marlies to within two points of Chicago for first place in the Western Conference.  Both teams have three games remaining.

The game was played before 3,113 fans at Ricoh Coliseum.
