Leafs Fall Flat to Canes

In a game that at some points was downright painful to watch, the Carolina Hurricanes doubled up the Toronto Maple Leafs 6-3 Thursday evening at the Air Canada Centre.

Coach Mike Babcock’s comments rang true when asked what he saw tonight. “Nothing. Non-competitive right from the start until the end. ”  It pretty much sums it up.  When asked if he was frustrated, he replied “Frustrated is a waste of time, disappointed, for me, is – we were no good. They deserved to win, we didn’t deserve to win. We didn’t work, they worked. They were organized, we were unorganized. They were prepared, we were unprepared..”

Auston Matthews, Dominic Moore, and Zach Hyman scored for Toronto.  Freddie Andersen stopped 32 shots.

The Leafs next action is Saturday night when they host the Philadelphia Flyers.
