After contacting multiple sources, TMLfans.ca has learned that two former tough guys will be added to Legends Row.
Pugilistic enforcers Dave “Tiger” Williams and Tie Domi will have their careers commemorated with bronze statues.
Real Sports Bar and Grill outside of ACC will soon be facing a monument that includes the two fisticuff specialists alongside legends such as Johnny Bower, Darryl Sittler and Tim Horton.
In 407 career Leafs games between 1974 and 1980, Williams racked up 1,670 penalty minutes.
Lauded more for his fights than for his goals, Domi – the Leafs’ all-time PIM leader with 2,265 – played 777 games in a Toronto uniform, scoring a whopping 84 goals.
Fans who truly appreciate the brawling aspect of hockey, in addition to the skill element, are ecstatic.
Originally, Legends Row was built to accommodate just ten players.
Overwhelming demand for the inclusion of enforcers – and not just All-Stars – prompted the change for expansion of the monument.
Leafs fans can expect to see the new additions sometime early in the 2016-17 season.
