The Maple Leafs were thoroughly outclassed by the Chicago Blackhawks on Monday night, dropping a 7-2 decision. Patrick Kane led the way with a goal and three assists for the defending Stanley Cup champions
Chicago was particularly opportunistic on the power play, going 4-for-7 with the man advantage. James Reimer took the loss in net, playing the entire game in what was truly a team defeat.
“It just wasn’t our night. We just didn’t have it tonight and they were coming,” Reimer said to the media. “They got a couple of opportunities and they buried on them. They’ve got some good players so that’s what happens sometimes.”
Mark Arcobello had his third goal in two games for the Leafs, while PA Parenteau also scored for Toronto.
