Leipsic scores in NHL debut as Leafs beat Canucks

Brendan Leipsic made his first NHL game a memorable one, batting a puck out of mid-air for his first career goal in Toronto’s 5-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday.

Leipsic registered his third period tally as his parents watched in delight from the stands at Rogers Arena.

Mark Arcobello collected a pair of goals in the second period, just 17 seconds apart. Brad Boyes and Leo Komarov rounded out the scoring, each with an empty net goal.

James Reimer made 17 saves for the victory in net.
