Leafs blank Ducks to begin road trip

The Maple Leafs began their three-game western road trip with a convincing 4-0 win over the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday.

Although Toronto started sluggish, giving up 11 of the first 12 shots of the game, the team recovered to take control of the outing, fron the later stages of the first period and onwards.

PA Parenteau scored twice for the Leafs, with Nazem Kadri and Brad Boyes also getting goals.

Kadri had an especially strong game, highlighted by a powerful shoulder hit on Corey Perry, in addition to his goal.

Jonathan Bernier made 39 saves to collect his 11th career shutout.
